Starting a Business and Making Money in Thailand
How to start a business in Thailand is a topic most often
addressed by lifestyle-loving travelers who have experienced in the Kingdom.
This is also how they believe they can live in the country longer while living
in Thailand. But they do not know that foreigners wishing to open a store in
Thailand cannot own a business entirely; except for US citizens under the US
Friendship Treaty. And they wonder how much it costs to start a business in Bangkok, Chang Mai or any of the idyllic beaches of the beautiful coast of the
country.
There are also cultural differences and legal boundaries
that must be considered before planning to open a store in Thailand.
In this article, I will explain what you should do legally
and what to expect when operating a business in Thailand. You will also learn
the benefits and pitfalls of setting up stores. I will also discuss some ideas
and business ventures that I think will work and will not work. The advice of
this hub is based on my experiences and stories from foreigners who own
restaurants and retail stores all over Thailand and live their dreams.
Thailand's most frequent visitors or long-term residents
have dreams and aspirations of opening a bar business in Phuket, a beachfront
bungalow resort in Koh Chang and even a coffee shop in Bangkok. Whatever
business you decide to start, you should seriously consider what you are going
to do and, most importantly, have an exit plan if everything fails.
Unfortunately, many foreign-based companies fail at high speed. Mainly due to
the unpreparedness of finances. But the potential rewards are great if you are
prepared for the task and if luck smiles on you with good luck.
As I talk to most bleary-eyed travelers, I come across who
wants to start a business in Thailand. I can easily see in a few minutes that
they really have no idea what they're getting into, especially when they don't
have a business plan. But the most important plan missing is the exit plan.
Starting a business in Thailand is not as difficult as you
might think as the country is very capitalist and extremely receptive to
foreign companies. And with a nation of spenders following China's explosive
growth, Thailand is receiving an explosive middle class with spending money.
Thailand has a lot of potential for a successful business if
you.
Get a strong idea and a business plan.
Have a large supply of funds to start your business.
Willingness to understand Thai culture, mindset and open
mindedness with a huge dose of patience
Before reading further, my advice is that if you are a
casual visitor from Thailand, you can stay in Thailand longer to get a better
idea of what you're getting involved with. Unless you have so much money you
don't use I don't know what to do with it (if that's the case, write me a
check). Whether you like it or not, you will have to learn Thai and maybe even
read Thai for your business to grow successfully.
Finally, you must evaluate your goals and reflect on your
plan. If your desire and desire is to start a small business in Thailand with limited capital, you must accept the fact that this may not make you a home
millionaire. However, if your business succeeds, you can have a very
comfortable life while enjoying life in Thailand.
